HIGHLIGHTS OF ROME, FULL DAY

This tour has a flexible itinerary and will pass the main highlights of Rome. You can decide which sights you wish to see, and your driver will advise and accommodate as much as is possible within the time given.

Start at the Vatican after a 90 minute-drive from the pier for an external viewing of the Vatican and the Vatican Museums that houses the famous art creations, including the 15th century Sistene Chapel.

Continue towards Piazza Venezia, known for the Victor Emanuel Monument, followed by a stop at the most beautiful fountain in the world: Trevi. Drive by the famous Spanish Steps, visit Piazza Navona, the most beautiful baroque square in the city, and the imposing Pantheon where the great painter Raphael is buried. Reach the Capitoline Hill to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Roman Forum with the Rostrum where Mark Anthony made his impassioned speech over the body of Julio Cesar. Stop at the most fascinating monument in Rome: the Colosseum. Drive by the impressive Arch of Constantine on your return to the ship or hotel.

Additional suggested highlights to be seen are the Veneto Avenue, the Appian Way, Circus Maximus, Aventine Hill, Quirinal Hill (residence of the Italian President), Piramid of Caio Cestius, and more.

EXCLUSIVE ROME, FULL DAY

This Rome Shore Excursion starts at the Vatican after a 90 minute wheelchair accessible drive from the pier. You will explore the Vatican Museums. Walk through the Tapestries and Geographical Maps Galleries, the Candelabra Gallery and the Raphael Rooms that lead to the 15th century Sistine Chapel which holds an invaluable collection of masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s ceiling painting of the “Creation of the World”.

Your next stop is Piazza Venezia, known for the Victor Emanuel Monument. Here your driver can suggest several places to enjoy a local lunch with home-made wine during free time.

We stop at the most beautiful fountain in the world: Trevi. Drive by the famous Spanish Steps where the finest shopping street is. Visit Piazza Navona, and the imposing Pantheon where the great painter Raphael is buried.

Last stop will be the most fascinating monument in Rome: the Colosseum. Drive by the impressive Arch of Constantine on your return to the ship.
