About this wheelchair accessible old town of Lisbon tour
During this Discover the old town of Lisbon tour, you get the chance to see the center of Lisbon through the eyes of a local. You will meet your driver-guide with private adapted transport at your hotel or the cruise port. He will be holding a sign with your name on it.
Lisbon is built on a few hills. Therefore the areas in the town are quite spread out. We picked out the best highlights, so you get a perfect view of the capital of Portugal.
Firstly, you see the square of Rossio. A lively square full of restaurants, with children playing, and musicians entertaining the tourists and the locals. Take a pause near one of the great fountains and enjoy your surroundings. The next stop is to Commence Square. The biggest square in the city which is built on the place where the Palace used to be. This palace was destroyed in 1755 by a massive earthquake.
The Discover the Old Town of Lisbon tour continues through the triumphal arch to Rua Augusta. A pedestrian street that is full of beautifully laid mosaic, terraces, and souvenir shops. The tour ends with a visit to Bairro Alto and Chiado. Where the Alto area is very trendy and cool by night, the Chiado area is very fashionable. This is the place to be, to find famous monuments and small boutiques.
