After some free time for shopping and exploring, you proceed to a local farm for a heavenly lunch*. This consists of delicious authentic Sicilian dishes, prepared exclusively with local products, and regional wine.

Mount Etna

After the lunch, the tour continuous to the north slopes of Mount Etna. Your guide brings you to the famous Alcantara Gorge. The Gorge is a gorgeous nature reserve along the course of the River Alcantara. It is one of the few rivers on that runs year round.

Several thousand years ago the path of the river was blocked by a large lava flow from Mount Etna. The river caused lava to cool very quickly. Resulting in the lava crystalizing and forming the unique rock columns. The river stream kept on carving a path through the columns, which is the Gorge that visitors admire today.

At the end of the day, your driver brings you to the cruise port.
