Staying in the center of Rome and want to discover the eternal city in a different light? Prepare to be amazed by the magical atmosphere of Rome by night. Your English speaking driver-guide picks you up in a wheelchair accessible vehicle. He takes you around the city and shows you the most enchanting places Rome offers.
A happy side note: In the evening there is 50% less traffic in the city so you can see more than during the day!
In this three hour tour, your first stop on this Rome by Night tour is the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built by the Roman empire. It is considered an architectural wonder of the ancient world and the scene of many deadly gladiator and animal fights. You also bring a visit to Circo Massimo, ancient Rome’s largest chariot racetrack that was so big it could seat a quarter of the population of that time.
You see Bocca Della Verità. The legend says it eats the hands of liars. Would you dare to put your hand inside? A visit to Tempio di Vesta, a beautiful temple found in the middle of the Forum. Additionally you get the chance to see Altare Della Patria, an enormous building dedicated to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy after the country’s unification.
Your tour continues to one of the most famous fountain in the world: the Trevi Fountain. The story goes that if you throw a coin in the fountain with your right hand over your left shoulder, you will return to Rome. It also means that there is good fortune coming your way. A must-do for every visitor visiting Rome! When everyone has tested their luck, you go to Piazza di Spagna at the bottom of the Spanish Steps. It is a popular meeting point and the perfect place to watch people.
You continue towards the Piazza Del Popolo. A huge square that was the starting point of the road to Rimini, before they introduced trains. Piazza Navona, one of the largest squares of Rome and the place where beautiful fountains are located from the Baroque time. And you get to see the external view of the Vatican Museums, the area where the Sistine Chapel is located. The tour finishes at Terrazza del Pincio, a viewpoint where you will be amazed by the magnificent view and the dazzling lights that make this city so romantic.
