About the wheelchair accessible half-day Olympia tour

Ancient Olympia and Olympia Museum

Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting for you with private accessible transportation. First, your Half Day Olympia tour will take you to Ancient Olympia. You will visit the archeological site and the Olympia museum. The Olympic games were born here, still considered the most important sports event in history. Its first edition was held in 776 B.C. It is both a unique and one of the most impressive archeological sites in Greece. A must-see when you are around! Inspired to read more? Check out our blog about the accessibility of Olympia.

Near the site is the Olympia museum. Here you find the prehistoric excavations and collections from the first Christian age. The Olympia museum is a priority for many travelers because it is considered one of the most important museums in the country. Besides artifacts from different times, the museum exhibits the biggest collection of bronze findings, as well as the large terracottas collection.

The museum displays one of the seven miracles of the ancient world, the sculpture decoration of the temple of Zeus. Additionally, you can admire the sculpture Nice of Peonies, and the famous sculpture of Hermes of Praxiteles.

Olympia village or Katakolon village

Following the visit to Olympia, your guide will give you the option to visit the Olympia village or Katakolon village. Here you can take a relaxing walk/roll around, take in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy a coffee in one of the charming little cafes or restaurants. And also for those wishing to do some shopping, there are plenty of local souvenir or jewelry shops to buy some gifts.

Honey farm of Klio or Winery Olympic Land

Your third and last stop will be at the honey farm of Klio or the Winery Olympic land. Depending on your wishes your guide will take you to either one of these exciting local and authentic experiences.

The honey farm of Klio (entrance to be paid on the day, approx € 8 p.p)

Klio owns her honey farm in the town of Olympia. On your arrival, she will welcome you with fresh products which are all home-made. As a beekeeper, she will spill all the secrets to making her delicious honey and other treats. Besides the fresh products, you can try traditional sweets made by Klio and her mom, and you will get a guided tour of the farm. By the time you leave the farm, you will know what true friendly Greek hospitality means.

OR

Winery Olympic Land (entrance to be paid on the day, approx € 15 p.p.)

Just 2 km away from the town of Olympia you find Winery Olympic Land. With vineyards, all the way up to the mountains there is a lot to discover.
