Wheelchair accessible taxi

Planning a trip to Europe with a wheelchair or scooter? Getting from A to B should be the least of your worries. Since 2004, we have been arranging wheelchair taxi transfers across more than 100 European destinations. You tell us where you want to go. And we will check how we assist.

We arrange private wheelchair accessible transfers for manual wheelchair users, electric wheelchair users, scooter users, and anyone who needs a little extra space or support. Whether you need an airport transfer, a cruise port transfer, a train station pickup, or a daily city ride, we will find the right vehicle for you.

All our adapted vehicles come with a rear ramp, a hydraulic lift, or side ramp access, and you can always count on a professional local driver who knows the area.

Book in advance

Adapted vehicles are in high demand across Europe. The earlier you book, the more time we have to arrange the vehicle that best suits your specific mobility needs. Unfortunately, we cannot arrange same-day transfers.

Our Destinations

We cover the majority of cities and towns across Europe, including Barcelona, Rome, Lisbon, Paris, Amsterdam and Athens.

Whether you are traveling to a well-known capital, a smaller coastal town, or arriving via a cruise port or airport, we are always happy to check what we can arrange for your specific location. Just let us know your plans.

Wheelchair Accessible Airport Transfers

Arriving at a new airport with a wheelchair or scooter can feel daunting. When you book with us, your driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name on it and will help you with your luggage. At airports where drivers are only permitted to wait for a limited time, we will assign a dedicated meeting point and let you know in advance.

The transport tracks your flight using your flight number, so your driver always knows when your plane lands. In the event of a delay, we will do our absolute best to accommodate the new arrival time.

If the delay is substantial, additional waiting costs may apply depending on the destination, this can then be handled directly with your driver on the day. In general, one hour waiting time is included, after scheduled arrival time, to allow time to disembark and collect your luggage.

Wheelchair Accessible Cruise Port Transfers

Embarking at your new travel destination should feel like the start of something great, not a logistical challenge. Your driver will be waiting for you with a name board, ready to assist you and ensure a smooth and comfortable transfer.

Some ports are a considerable distance from the city centre. For example, the port of Civitavecchia is about an hour and fifteen minutes from Rome, and La Spezia is around an hour and thirty minutes from Florence. In these cases, it can be more practical and economical to arrange a full-day private accessible shore excursion rather than a simple transfer. Feel free to ask us about the options for your specific port of call.

Availability & Advance Booking

Wheelchair accessible vehicles are in high demand across Europe, particularly at airports and cruise ports. For this reason, we strongly recommend booking your Wheelchair accessible taxi in advance. Same-day accessible transfers cannot be arranged. Booking ahead ensures your vehicle is confirmed, avoids last-minute stress, and gives us time to make sure everything is in order for your arrival.

How Our Wheelchair Taxi Service Works in Each City

Every destination in our network has its own local partner: a licensed transport company or independent driver. They know their city, they know their vehicles, and they know what accessible travel actually looks like.

When you request a transfer, we match you with the right local partner for your destination and coordinate everything on your behalf. You do not need to deal with the logistics. We handle that.

Vehicle availability varies by destination, which is exactly why we ask for your equipment details upfront. We confirm the right fit before you arrive, not after. ls upfront. We confirm the right fit before you arrive, not after.

No one size fits all

We are often asked why we need so many details to arrange a transfer. The answer is simple: not all travellers are the same, and neither are their equipment or the vehicles available in each destination.

Some vehicles have rear ramp access, others a hydraulic lift, and some come with side entry. In addition, ramp widths vary. Some minivans allow us to remove seats for multiple wheelchair users, while others have a fixed layout.

We work with everything from adapted cars to minivans, minibuses, and coaches. Before your arrival, we check all dimensions with your driver to make sure your equipment and luggage fit inside the vehicle, Or if we need to arrange a larger size vehicle.

Language barrier?

Most of our drivers speak English, but even if they do not, you will never be left on your own. We maintain direct contact with every driver and local transport company in our network. If any questions or concerns arise during your trip, we are here to bridge any language gap.

Looking for more than just a transfer?

We also arrange fully wheelchair accessible private tours and excursions across Europe. Because a great journey does not stop at the door of your accommodation. Whether you want to explore a city or join a shore excursion. We make sure accessibility is never the thing holding you back.

FAQ

What is a wheelchair accessible taxi?

A wheelchair accessible taxi is a specially adapted vehicle designed to transport passengers who remain in their wheelchair or scooter during the journey. These vehicles come with a rear ramp or hydraulic lift and professional tie-down systems for a safe and comfortable transfer.

Do I need to book my wheelchair taxi in advance?

Yes, always. Adapted vehicles are scarce in most European cities and at cruise ports. We cannot arrange same-day bookings. Booking in advance guarantees availability and avoids last-minute stress.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Delays happen. We use your flight number to track your flight, so your driver is always up to date. One hour of waiting time is included in every airport transfer. If your delay runs longer than that, we will always do our best to find a solution, though additional waiting costs may apply

Do you arrange transfers for groups?

Yes. Whether you are travelling alone or with a larger group, we arrange the right vehicle for your needs. This can range from an adapted taxi for one wheelchair user to a minibus for larger groups with multiple wheelchair or scooter users.

Can you arrange a transfer from a train station?

Yes, we arrange wheelchair taxi transfers to and from train stations across Europe. Make sure to book in advance to guarantee an adapted vehicle is available for your arrival.

How much does a wheelchair taxi cost in Europe?

The price depends on your destination, the distance, the number of passengers, the total amount of luggage and the type of vehicle needed. The easiest way to get an accurate price is to request a quote. One of our travel agents will come back to you with a clear price for your specific journey.
