About the tour

Rauma Railway

This accessible Rauma Railway and Troll Wall Tour firstly give you the opportunity to experience some of the most spectacular scenery in Norway onboard the Rauma Railway Train. The train will take you from the beautiful fjords to the marvelous mountains. Once onboard, relax and enjoy your journey through a landscape full of contrasts. Your train journey will end at the mountain station of Bjorli. Where you will meet your guide upon arrival. Your return trip to Åndalsnes will be by car. Drive through the beautiful Romsdal Valley and stop for a closer look at the Troll Wall.

Romsdalen Valley

Continue your journey by going to the Romsdalen valley. This valley features some of the most spectacular scenery in Norway and The Lonely Planet named it the most beautiful railway journey. The valley is surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes on both sides. In the lively valley runs the wild Rauma river filled with salmon. The valley is supposedly one of the most monumental and romantic valleys of Norway, so definitely worth a visit! One of the cliff formations in Romsdalen is Trollveggen (the Troll Wall) which is your next stop on the guided tour.

Trollveggen (Troll Wall)

The Troll-Wall is definitely a highlight of this tour. With its vertical drop of over 1000 meters, the mountain was a launch site for European base jumpers. It is Europe’s tallest vertical mountain wall. Be amazed by how big the wall is and how small you are in comparison, spot the eternal snow on the mountain tops, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy this experience!

Town of Åndalsnes

After the beautiful train and car ride, you go back to Åndalsnes. A town people call the mountaineering capital of Norway. It has a very modern mountaineering center that is worth a visit. Åndalsnes is mostly visited as the starting point for exploring the surrounding mountain landscapes and green areas but has its own charm as well.
