About this wheelchair accessible walking tour through Gothenburg

Enjoy this wheelchair accessible walking/rolling tour through Gothenburg, together with your private English speaking guide. He will share everything you need to know about this beautiful city. The tour takes you to Gothenburg’s main highlights, and starts directly in the Old Town. If you wish a different starting point, let us know.

The Crown House, “Kronhuset”

While strolling through the Old Town, you can not miss Gothenburg’s oldest characteristic building dating from the 17th century. Locals call this building “Kronhuset”, or the Crown House. Learn from your guide about its structure and why it is so important for the city. One of the reasons is that the Crown House is where Gothenburg almost got named as the capital of Scandinavia. It used to be a warehouse for army’s supplies, and briefly served as Parliament.

Haga and Fika

Next up you continue to the neighborhood of Haga, which is the oldest district in Gothenburg, and still a vibrant area with many small shops and lovely cafes and bars. Stroll around and look for a nice restaurant or bar for a ‘Fika’, which is the typical Swedish coffee break. And more than that. A Fika is a state of mind, and a specific type of attitude. This is when the locals make time for friends and colleagues, usually accompanied by something small to eat.

Stories about Gothenburg

Let your guide lead the way while you listen to stories about this fantastic city. From the bronze age to how Volvo came to exist. Did you know there is a museum specifically dedicated to this car brand? Moreover, you will learn why China was, and still is, very important to the cities development ever since the 18th century.

After you have seen everything in the Old City, your guide accompanies you back to the starting point again, or you can chose another drop off location in the city.

Optional: See the highlights of Gothenburg with private adapted transport. This way your guide can also take you to the top of the city to enjoy the most stunning views.
