About this wheelchair accessible tour to Cartagena and Murcia with transport
This Cartagena and Murcia tour explores the Tale of Two Cities. Your driver and your local licensed guide will meet you at the cruise port or your accommodation with private adapted transport.
Murcia
After about a 40 minutes drive, you arrive at the Capital City of the Region: Murcia. Your first stop today is a visit to the shrine devoted to the Patron Virgin stands. The shrine is completely built in the 18th Baroque fashion of that time. Entrance is free of charge, and although this holy place is accessible with a ramp from the side entrance, entrance may be limited when there is a wedding or ceremony taking place.
The tour continues downtown to the city’s old quarters. Located beside the river, and from here you can see the neoclassical Town Council.
After this, you enjoy a guided tour of the Cathedral*, which took 400 years to build. Followed by a visit and tour of Murcia’s beautiful exclusive Casino building, dated from the 19th century. Only the ground floor is accessible, as the first floor has steps to enter.
* Cathedral remains closed from 1 to 5 PM
Cartagena
Next you continue to Cartagena. Your guide takes you for a ride to the top of the hill which is in front of the harbor. On top of the hill, you enjoy stunning views over the whole City, including the beautiful Roman Theater, the military Arsenal, and the harbor.
At the end of the tour, your guide will bring you back to your cruise ship or accommodation.
