About Cartagena & Murcia

Cartagena and Murcia are in the southeast part of Spain. Cartagena is based directly by the Mediterranean coast. The port of Cartagena is one of the most important ports in Spain. And did you know that Cartagena houses the biggest naval base of the Mediterranean? Once, Cartagena used to be the capital of the Carthaginians. Until the Romans took over the city and in the Middle Ages, Cartagena was under the Arabian rule. In the city you find, among other sites: the Roman Theatre Museum, Naval Museum, a range of historic buildings and unfinished archaeological excavations of the Roman amphitheater.

From the port it is only a thirty-minute drive to Murcia.
