Highlights of this tour
- Vantage point
- Religious shrine
- The city’s old quarters
- A guided tour in the Cathedral
You meet your licensed guide directly at the cruise port, or at your accommodation, with private adapted transport. Together you head towards the capital of the region: Murcia. The first sight on this Accessible Murcia Guided Tour is the amazing vantage point for the stunning views of the city and surroundings. Here you also visit the religious shrine devoted to the Patron Virgin. The shrine is completely built in the 18th Baroque style of that time. Entrance is free of charge, and although this holy place is accessible with a ramp from the side entrance, entrance may be limited if there is a wedding or ceremony taking place. Also, there may be some waiting time for assistance.
Your trip continues to the city’s old quarters, located beside the river and facing the neoclassical Town Council.
The next highlight is a guided tour inside the Cathedral*, which took 400 years to build. Followed by a visit to the spectacular Casino building. The Casino dates from the late 19th century and is currently an exclusive membership for the local elite. Only the ground floor is accessible, as the first floor has steps to enter. After the visit of this imposing building, there will be some free time to explore the charming cathedral square. This is completely flat and pedestrian.
At the end of the tour, your guide takes you back to the ship or your accommodation.
* Cathedral remains closed from 1 to 5 PM
