Not afraid of heights? Then this might be the accessible hot air balloon tour of your life! Note: This tour is only available with a pick-up from your hotel in Barcelona and not from the port. This is because it is a very early pick up, a full-day and a pick-up from the port would make it too long.
Enjoy the adventure of flying in a hot air balloon over La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. Our tour is fully wheelchair accessible and will let you explore one of the most interesting areas of sleeping volcanoes in Europe.
Bright and early, your driver will pick you up from your accessible accommodation in Barcelona. After you leave the city, you enjoy a peaceful car-ride to the volcanic zone. The journey takes about one and a half to two hours. Once you arrive at the starting point, you can watch how they set up the balloon. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and take some pictures, or you can help out if you want. Tip: take a picture inside the balloon itself for an original image!
After the set-up of the balloon and the final double-checks, it is time to fly! Prepare yourself for a magical experience. A flight in a hot-air balloon is a different way of traveling and definitely a bucket-list moment! Being so far above the ground, you can inhale the pure air and peacefully take in the dazzling surroundings.
This joy-ride is perfect for nature-lovers and adventurers who seek some peace and quiet high in the sky. The views stretch as far as your eye can see on clear days. You will be able to see from Montserrat to the Mediterranean Sea with the Pyrenees in the background and the dormant volcanoes below. The pilot will tell you what is what. Onboard, you will enjoy a festive pink cava and a slice of coca de llardons, a delicious local savory cake.
After a one to one and a half hour flight, the balloon descends back to earth. An accessible vehicle takes you back to the starting point. Here you will be able to enjoy a homemade breakfast and receive your personal flight certificate! The breakfast consists of bread and tomato, Santa Pau haricot beans and botifarra which is a typical Catalan dish. This all accompanied by some delicious wine and even a local herbal liquor.
Everything from the vehicles to the entrance of the balloon is 100% adapted. The basket has a fully opening door and adjustable hydraulic seats. The seat can be raised to any height to give you a perfect view of the landscape.
