Next up is the Monte Smith Hill. From here, you get wonderful views in every direction. To enter the Old Town you pass D’amboise Gate. The Gate was developed at the beginning of the 16th century and still is as magnificent as all those years ago.

Old Town

During your visit of the Old Town, your guide will explain in more detail about the various sights. One of the main highlights is the Knights’ Grand Master Palace. This stunning building exists since the 14th century and was used for multiple purposes. It served initially as the residence of the Grand Master. Besides that, it was also the primary administrative seat of the Order, and it served as the social-cultural center of the island.

Another highlights is the Inn of England. During the 14th and 15th centuries, a period also knows as ‘the Rule of the Knights’, this was used as the Knight’s main hospital. Currently it houses the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes. This visit is an outside visit only.

Ancient Stadium
