About this wheelchair accessible Alhambra surroundings tour

Discover the surroundings of the Alhambra accompanied by an officially licensed guide who will tell you everything about the history of the Alhambra in Granada. During this tour, you do not visit the Alhambra itself. However, you avoid the crowds and discover some fascinating hidden places and monuments around the palace.

You meet your officially licensed guide at a pre-set location in the center, or he will meet you at your accommodation, this depends on the location of your hotel.

The order of the tour may therefore change: starting at the Alhambra by means of private adapted transport, and ending at Plaza Nueva.

The Granadas Gate

The first monument you see is the Granadas Gate. You find this broad and beautifully decorated gate on the path that starts at Plaza Nueva, and that leads you to the forest of the Alhambra. The portal is constructed in the style of Roman triumphal arches, with a classic front façade. It used to function as the main entrance of the wall around the Alhambra.

The Bib Rambla gate

Next, you see another gate, the Bib Rambla gate. This gate was the old city gate of Granada and originally located in the center of the city. Today, you can still see remains of the gate among the trees in the Alhambra Forest. That is not the only piece of history in the green Alhambra Forest. During the tour, you see Carmen de Los Mártines, a 19th-century house and romantic set of gardens. Furthermore, you see the Justice Gate. This gate is the largest and the most impressive passage of the gates in the Alhambra walls, built-in 1348.

The Albaicín Viewpoint

One of the highlights of this tour, is the magnificent view of the Alhambra, from the famous Albaicín View Point.

After you continue to the Alhambra Museum. The museum holds seven halls with different rooms and exhibitions. You find the best collection of Nasrid Art in the world, and archaeological excavations or restoration works of the Alhambra.

Your last stop of the tour is at the Parador of Granada.
