About this wheelchair accessible scenic tour in and around Olden

This 3-hour tour starts from the cruise port in Olden, where you will be picked up by your English-speaking driver-guide with a private adapted vehicle. On this tour, you head to all the fantastic places the surroundings of Olden has to offer. Enjoy the charming places, excellent viewing points, and beautiful Nordic scenery.

Lean back and explore some of the best nature that Norway offers. Along the way, the driver will make various stops so you can take in the stunning views.

Jostedalsbreen National Park Center

The tour starts with a scenic drive through wondrous Norwegian nature. Midway through the ride, the driver guide will pass the Jostedalsbreen National Park Center.

The national park is known for its various natural elements close to each other, such as mountains, lakes and glaciers. This gives the park a specific personality that cannot be replicated. Thanks to the park’s features, it offers a variety of activities for the locals, such as kayaking, hiking, historical walks/strolls, and more.

The Josteldalbreen is not only the name of the park, but it also belongs to the biggest glacier in the European continent. Whether you plan this tour during the winter or summer, it is beautiful in both seasons, as each season has its charm.

Exhibitions & the Botanical Garden

Besides the exhibitions in the park, they also offer indoor displays. Here you get to know how life in the valleys was like before our generation. You can also see what equipment they previously used for hiking on the glacier. Also, the exhibition explains how the glaciers formed the spectacular environment around you.

If you are more of a plant, tree, or flower lover, the Botanical garden is worth visiting. Here you can relax and take in the breathtaking sight. There are more than 200 trees, plants, and flowers planted to represent the local flora in the garden. It is divided into zones, and each zone has flora from different places in and around the park.

Geological Park

There is also a Geological park where you can see other rocks and read about the characteristics and history over millions of years. While you stroll around this park, look in the distance and appreciate the outline of the mountains and the clear lake beneath it.

The whole national park is surrounded by valleys and steep cliffs, allowing you to take some of the most beautiful pictures. After touring around the park, you can enjoy a cup of coffee, or eat something, while being in the center of the stunning views.

Briksdalen & Briksdalsbreen Glacier

Your journey continues to the ravine Briksdalen with a visit to the Briksdalsbreen Glacier. This arm of the Jostedalsbreen glacier is one of the most accessible and most famous ones. This 2km long arm moves down from an altitude of 1600m to 550m, hanging near a lake where it used to end in the past. The view of this blue ice formation, gorgeous lake below it, and the surrounding nature are really worth a visit.

At the end of the tour, your driver-guide will take you back to the cruise port in Olden.
