Discover some of the surrounding towns of Genoa during this 4 hour private tour, and visit Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. At the cruise terminal in Genoa you meet your guide, and together you first head to Portofino, with private adapted vehicle. The guide can also meet you in the city center.
Portofino
From the cruise port you go on a scenic drive of about one hour towards Portofino. This picturesque fishers village is well known for its holiday resorts and elite holiday visitors. Besides the holiday vibes, the town is clustered around its small harbor and is famous for the colorfully painted buildings that line the shore.
Enjoy a strolling/walking tour through the town and find out everything there is to know about this little village. The starting point will be the famous Piazetta, the town’s main square. Take a look at the fisher boats moored along the coastline and try some local delicacies at one of the lovely restaurants at the promenade. Moreover, you see the Brown Castle that was built as a defense mechanism against intruders. Now it serves as a museum. Do not miss the Church of S. Giorgio, a modest church that owes his name to Saint George. Saint George was a Christian who got accepted as a saint in both Christianity and Islam.
Santa Margherita Ligure
From Portofino, you continue towards Santa Margherita Ligure. Your guide will explain everything about this marvelous town while you enjoy a walking/rolling tour along the waterfront. Enjoy the best views of the Gulf of Tigullio, do some holiday shopping at the most refined luxury shops, or try some of the local delicacies such as focaccia, pesto, or of course, a homemade gelato.
