About this Wheelchair Accessible Jungfraujoch tour

Today you will enjoy the magnificent heights, views, and nature of the mountain Jungfrau, one of the most stunning European peaks with unforgettable panoramic views. Famous for having the highest railway station on the continent, ‘Jungfrau’ means ‘Top of Europe.’ The Jungfraujoch is Europe’s Highest Train Station, referring to the saddle between the two peaks.

The Jungfraujoch train station is situated at the height of 3.454 meters. You will need to dress accordingly and bring a warm jacket or fleece to keep you warm, including a hat, scarf, and gloves. The area “Jungfrau-Aletsch – Bietschhorn” has the largest glacier in the Alps, the Great Aletsch Glacier, and is UNESCO Natural World Heritage. Today you will discover why that is.

Eigergletscher & Jungfrau Railway station

Your local driver guide will meet you at your hotel, and together you will head towards the area of Berner Oberland. From Grindelwald, it is less than an hour by train to the top. The first stop is the Eigergletscher, and from there, you continue to the Jungfrau Railway station.

The Jungfraujoch is more than ‘just’ the highest train station in Europe. Besides the fantastic views, there are many activities to see, do and enjoy. Consider the Sphinx Observation Deck, an astronomical observatory. It is not accessible to the public; however, the open viewing dock has views of the Aletsch glacier.

Ice Palace

A one-of-a-kind experience is the Ice Palace, created by mountain guides in the 1930s. Today it is a labyrinth of winding ice paths, with works of art made of ice exhibits. Do not be surprised if you will pass an eagle, dog, or bear sculpture made of ice. This is why they must maintain the ice temperature at a maximum of 3 degrees Celsius. The area can be slippery, but you find railings throughout the venue. Even at this temperature, the sculptures are melting.

Glacier Plateau

The Glacier Plateau is a must-visit. It has guaranteed snow 365 days a year and offers a fantastic view over the Jungfrau and the Silberhorn mountain peaks, this is thé photo stop at Jungfraujoch.

Lindt Chocolate

And also at great heights, you can taste the famous Swiss chocolate. You find the Lindt Chocolate Heaven store to see the making process and try some of the chocolate yourself.

Your driver guide will accompany you to the top to ensure a comfortable and relaxing visit, with nothing else to worry about than finding the perfect angle for your pictures.
