About the wheelchair accessible Rauma Railway and Troll Wall tour

Rauma Railway

During this accessible Rauma Railway and Troll Wall tour, you will experience some of the most spectacular scenery in Norway onboard of the Rauma Railway Train. According to Lonely Planet, it is one of the most spectacular railway journeys and takes you from the beautiful fjords to the marvelous mountains. Once on board, relax and enjoy your journey through a landscape full of contrasts. Your train journey ends at the mountain station of Bjorli. Here you meet your driver-guide for the return journey to Åndalsnes with private adapted vehicle. 

Romsdalen Valley

Along the way back to Åndalsnes, you drive through the beautiful Romsdal Valley and stop for a closer look at the Troll Wall. This valley features some of the most spectacular scenery in Norway with stunning mountain landscapes surrounding it. In the lively valley runs the wild Rauma river filled with salmon and is supposedly one of the most monumental and romantic valleys of Norway. One of the cliff formations in Romsdalen is called Trollveggen, the Troll Wall, which is your next stop on this driver guided tour.

Trollveggen (Troll Wall)

The Troll-Wall is one of the main highlights of this tour. With its vertical drop of over 1000 meters, it is Europe’s tallest vertical mountain wall. The perfect launch site for European base jumpers. Be amazed by how big the wall is and how small you are in comparison, spot the eternal snow on the mountain tops, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy this experience!

Town of Åndalsnes

After your unforgettable train and car ride, you go back to Åndalsnes for a short panoramic tour with your driver-guide. The city is also referred to as the mountaineering capital of Norway. It has a very modern mountaineering center and Åndalsnes is mostly visited as the starting point for exploring the surrounding mountain landscapes and green areas. 

Please note the following before booking:

  • You will be on your own during the train journey.
  • From 30th May through 30th August, the sightseeing trains will run slower, and you hear the commentary in Norwegian, English, and German. Furthermore, you receive a brochure describing the highlights of your journey (these are subject to change). The rest of the year the trains will run about 10 to 15 min faster, and there is no commentary provided.
  • Commentary from your driver-guide will only be available during the portion of your tour that is done by car.
  • Depending on the train schedule, this tour may be operated in the reverse direction with the driver-guide portion starting first and returning to Åndalsnes with the Rauma Railway.
