West Berlin
After a scenic ride through northern Germany’s hilly landscapes with its hundreds of lakes, you arrive to the German capital. You meet your guide in the western part of Berlin, and he will show you all the highlights and must-see of this historical city. First up is Charlottenburg Castle for a photo stop. Take a look at this magnificent building that was built in 1695.
Some notorious sights of the Third Reich
Your tour continues to the Reichstag, the German Parliament, and the Brandenburg Gate. Along the way, you will also see the Berlin Cathedral, the tree-lined Unter den Linden boulevard, Museum Island, Bellevue Palace, Victory Column, and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. A tour through Berlin is not complete without learning more about the notorious sights of the Third Reich and Cold War, such as Hermann Göring’s Aviation Ministry and the former site of Hitler’s Bunker.
Berlin Wall
Marvel at Potsdamer Platz, the place where modern architecture and a lively metropolitan ambiance meets Berlin’s history. Take a unique picture of one of the Berlin Wall’s only remaining parts and walk/roll through former Checkpoint Charlie. This is where you will have some time for souvenir shopping and to take some unique holiday pictures. Other highlights of former East Berlin include the Alexanderplatz Square, Red City Hall, and the Humbold University.
Holocaust Memorial
On the way back to former West Berlin, you will pass by the famous Holocaust Memorial opened in 2005. Before heading back to Warnemünde, you will drive along famous Kurfürstendamm Avenue, Berlins Champs Elysées, and West Berlins former Showcase of the West. Here we can include some time for shopping for those who wish. Please advise your guide prior. If desired, there will also be time for a typical hearty Berlin lunch (not included in the tour price).
Please note: Depending on duration and place of departure, the route may vary. Please be aware that due to traffic conditions, streets can be closed due to reasons beyond our control, therefore it may occur that some places of interest may not be available. We will always aim to replace them with an alternative.
Your tour can also be focused on particular topics: Jewish Heritage or special sights of the Third Reich and Cold War. Just ask for the possibilities.
Optional museum visits
Your wheelchair accessible tour to Berlin is an individualized and not a standard tour, meaning that we can custom-tailored the itinerary to suit your wishes. If you prefer to visit two museums, that is no problem. In that case some of the other sights have to be skipped due to lack of time. Your guide will not tour inside the museum, there are audio-guides available.
