Green Door Entrance to Kasbah Museum in Tangier, Marocco

Your driver and your private guide will meet you at the cruise port or city centre accommodation, and together you will head to Tangier. Today you will explore the main highlights of this beautiful city.
Please note that the order of the route may vary depending on local traffic conditions.

Kasbah

You will begin the tour with a visit to the old town, the Kasbah of Tangier, located at the highest point in the city. The Kasbah is a historic fortress with stunning views of the Strait of Gibraltar and Spain. Here, the central Place de la Kasbah offers a natural pause point to take in the scenery before continuing. In this area, you will also find the Kasbah Museum, housed in the former Makhzen Palace. This impressive example of Arab-Andalusian architecture dates back to the 18th century and houses a rich collection of artwork and historical artifacts. An inside visit can be arranged upon request. (Entrance tickets are not included.)

Medina

Next, you will spend some time in the famous Medina, known for its narrow, winding streets, lively souks, and historic architecture. In this vibrant area, you will find markets, artisan shops, and charming cafes. A wonderful place to experience the culture and daily life of the locals.
Inside the Medina, you will visit the Petit Socco, also known as 9 April 1947 Square. This popular square sits at the entrance of the Medina and has a lively atmosphere, surrounded by cafes and shops. Nearby, the Grand Socco serves as a central gathering place for locals and visitors alike.
In the heart of the Medina, you will see the Great Mosque. This impressive mosque dates back to the 18th century. It is a sacred place, and visits to the interior are not permitted. From the outside, however, you can take in the beautiful details of its architecture. You will also have time for lunch in the Medina, which is not included.

Hercules Caves and Cap Spartel

After lunch, you head to Cap Spartel and the Hercules Caves. Cap Spartel is a stunning headland at the northwestern tip of Africa, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. The cape is a nature reserve with a lighthouse dating from the mid-nineteenth century, designed by architect François Léonce Reynaud and inspired by mosque architecture.
From Cap Spartel, your guide will take you to the nearby Caves of Hercules, a famous mythological site.

Accessibility note: The Hercules Caves are not accessible for wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility. And can be seen from a scenic viewpoint

Assilah city or Corniche Drive (optional)

In case of interest, we can customise the literary to include Assilah city or Corniche Drive. Please let us know your preference when booking, so the guide and driver can adjust the itinerary. Please keep in mind that adding a visit this will allow less time in Tangier for sightseeing.

Assilah city

The tour continues to Assilah city, which is approximately a 60 minutes scenic drive. Assilah city is a charming fishing town. A perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of a sprawling metropolitan area. You will have time to explore the streets, visit the souk or browse in shops selling crafts and antiques.

Corniche Drive

The Corniche Drive is a beautiful coastal road that offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It runs along the coastline, connecting different parts of the city, including Malabata Beach. Here is the perfect moment for some picture taking of the breathtaking ocean panoramas.

And at the end of the day, your driver and your guide will take you back again to the cruiseport.
