About Venice

Venice has its special charm with the narrow streets, the bridges, and numerous canals. It is one of the most visited cities in the world. It used to be the capital of the Republic of Venice, and one on the biggest trading towns in the past. The inhabitants dealt with luxury goods, spices, salt, and wheat. “La Dominante”, “Queen of the Adriatic” and “City of Bridges” are just some examples of the names Venice has been called.

Saint Mark’s Basilica was the chapel of the Doge, but later became the cathedral of the patriarch of Venice and is a ‘must see’ when exploring the city. Furthermore, the impressive Palazzo Ducale is definitely worth a visit. Whether visiting as part of a cruise day stopover or for a longer period, Venice has something to offer visitors of all ages and one of our experienced and qualified guides will introduce you to this unique destination.
