This walking/rolling tour through Florence starts at your hotel in the center of Florence or at a pre-set meeting point. If you are coming from outside of Florence, we can arrange private adapted transport that brings you to the city center where you meet your guide. Click here for more information and to book.
Your knowledgeable licensed guide takes you to the most impressive highlights of the city. The order of the stops can vary, and the itinerary is flexible. If you wish to see a sight we have not listed, let us know prior, so we can adjust the route accordingly.
Your first highlight on this tour is the Piazza Duomo (cathedral square). The Piazza del Duomo is the busiest square in Florence. From there, you head to Piazza della Republica, which reveals already a bit of the fascinating history and also offers several excellent culinary addresses.
Your strolling tour continues to the old Medieval quarter of Florence. Wander through the winding alleys, find the perfect souvenirs, and imagine how time was like centuries ago. You cross Piazza della Signoria where you see statues made by famous sculptors.
The last stop on this tour is the Ponte Vecchio. The world-famous bridge, which lies over the Arno, is one of the most romantic places in Florence. With beautiful views, cozy shops, and impressive statues, you will feel like you are in the Middle Ages. In the past, there were mainly greengrocers, butchers, and fish shops on the bridge. Nowadays many of these shops have gone, as they were the cause of a lot of bad smells. Instead, nowadays, only goldsmiths and jewelers are allowed to open their stores on the bridge. Many of these places are centuries old and very cozy and charming.
Other recommended sights that you can add to this itinerary are: the San Lorenzo neighborhood and Mercato Centrale (for food & beverage), Piazza Santa Maria Novella, Piazza Santa Croce, the area Beyond the river (Oltrarno).
You have the option to extend the tour with two hours and visit The Accademia of David and the Duomo Museum, with skip-the-line tickets and your private guide. The Galleria dell’Accademia was the first painting academy in Europe. In the 18th century, Grand Duke of Tuscany, Leopold II, decreed that all painting academies should be brought under one roof with paintings created by old masters, so that young artists could learn from them. In this academy, you see the most famous works of Michelangelo.
The Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore or the famous Duomo of Florence. You can visit the four different parts of this Cathedral separately: the Cathedral, the Brunelleschi dome, the Baptistery, and Giotto’s Campanile. The skip-the-line ticket includes a visit to the top of the dome and the crypt, not accessible though.
