Hands-on internship abroad

This internship is designed for students who want to learn by doing. You’ll work in a small international team where responsibility is the norm and initiative is rewarded. As we continue to grow, you’ll have the chance to contribute to real business development.

You’ll receive guidance, but not micromanagement. We trust our interns and expect you to be curious, ask questions, and spot opportunities on your own.

This is a hands-on internship. Our company is less suitable for graduation or thesis internships that focus primarily on research. We’re looking for interns who get energy from collaborating, experimenting, and improving.

Examples of tasks interns work on:

  • Writing and optimizing website content with an SEO focus
  • Managing social media and online campaigns
  • Supporting international client communications
  • Analyzing marketing data and improving conversion
  • Assisting in developing new services and processes
  • Researching destinations and accessibility
  • Improving internal workflows

These are not practice tasks. Everything you do has a real impact.

Who is this internship for?

This internship is suitable for students seeking hands-on experience in marketing, communications, tourism, international business, hospitality, or media. We’re not looking for perfect résumés. We’re looking for motivation, independence, and curiosity.

A good command of English is required, as you’ll work in an international environment and communicate daily with colleagues and clients from different countries.

You’ll fit in well with us if you take initiative, are willing to take responsibility, and enjoy working in an international setting.

Experience in accessible travel is not necessary. An interest in international business and digital marketing is a plus.

What our interns say

“What I really liked from the start was how flexible everything was. I got to discuss my tasks with my internship mentor, so they matched both my university requirements and my personal interests.” — Lisa, International Communication Management student (Belgium)

Lisa joined Disabled Accessible Travel for a four-month internship in Barcelona as part of her Bachelor’s in International Communication Management.

During her internship, she worked on a wide variety of projects, including researching accessible destinations, writing tour texts and blog content, and creating social media content.

According to Lisa, one of the biggest strengths of the internship is the balance between independence and support. Interns are trusted to take ownership of their work, while always receiving guidance and feedback when needed.

“I immediately felt included in the team. The balance between independence and guidance was perfect for me.”

Before starting, Lisa had no prior experience with accessible travel, but she quickly discovered how impactful and interesting the industry is.

“I learned so much during my internship, and it really opened my eyes to how important it is to make travel accessible for everyone.”

She describes the team as small, international, welcoming, and supportive, making it easy to feel part of the company from day one.

“I would definitely recommend this internship to students who want to gain hands-on experience, learn new things, and be part of a friendly and supportive team in a lively city.”
