"2009 cruise bids............

  • UNIQUE TOURS FOR THE DISABLED ?

Accessible shoreside excursions are a hot topic at the moment although it has to be said that efforts todate by cruise operators has been poor in providing specialist tours that offer adapted vehicles and trained staff .......

Is 2009 to be different ?

At Disabled Accessible Travel we certainly hope so and we are very pleased that some of the largest cruise operators, including both Royal Caribbean (USA) & Royal Caribbean (UK ) having recognised the need for services to disabled clients have come direct to Disabled Accessible Travel looking for proposals that offer a range of accessible tours and excursions ..........

We offered these cruise operators a range of specialist tours, excursions and sightseeing for the

  • Wheelchair user
  • Limited Mobility person
  • Partially Sighted
  • Unsighted
  • Hard of Hearing
  • Able-bodied

We await the 'final judgement' of these operators as to whether or not they will come to the specialists or continue to offer the same standard coach operator service who may or may not subcontract an adapted vehicle but who have no specially trained staff and no specialist knowledge of the different types of vehicles required for each guest.

Over the past few years we have offered a flexible service to CGTA and their clients travelling into Spanish ports and this is to be expanded to cover mainland cities during the 2009 / 2010 season.

  • SHORETRIPS.com
