Panoramic drive and sightseeing

During a panoramic drive of approximately half an hour, you will enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Cadiz before reaching Jerez de la Frontera. In this little town in Andalusia, you will see the several highlights. Among other things, you see the Cathedral of Jerez, which is also called “Catedral de Nuestro Señor San Salvador de Jerez de la Frontera”. This impressive building was built in the 12th century and has been extensively modified in the 17th century, making the architectural style a mix of baroque, gothic, and neoclassical style. Striking is the light from the majestic dome.

Another site you cannot miss is the Alcazar de Jerez, which is a former Moorish fortress. The first fortress was built in the 11th century when the city was part of the small kingdom of the Taifa of Arcos de la Frontera. After the conquest by the Almohads, the castle was further expanded in the 12th century. Some of the doors of the original Islamic fortress have been preserved, as well as the mosque, the Arab baths, the octagonal tower, and the patio of Doña Blanca.

Optional: visit a Bodega

You have not really experienced Jerez if you have not visited a typical wine-making bodega. Only wine that is cultivated in this region can hold the official name “sherry”. This typical “strengthen” white wine owes its taste to the unique combination of the calcareous soil, the grape varieties, and the abundance of sun in this region.

Please note that if you choose to visit a bodega, the total duration of the tour will be 6 hours. A reservation will be made prior, and the entrances to the group tour are included.
