CITY TOUR WITH TRANSPORT, HALF DAY

During this Tour you will view numerous landmarks of Barcelona, the Christopher Columbus column, Palau de la Musica, Cathedral, Ciutadella Park, and the Bull Ring. Arriving at the Expiatory Temple of La Sagrada Familia time is available to externally view this architectural work by Antoni Gaudi.

Following on, the tour passes along Passeig de Gracia for viewings of La Pedrera and Casa Batllo before we pass to the mountain of Montjuic where we view the Olympic Stadium. Time for panoramic photos of Barcelona, the port and the distant coastline of Costa Brava is available towards the end of the tour from a vantage point on the mountain of Montjuic before returning to your commencement point.

GAUDI WITH TRANSPORT, FULL DAY

Traveling a short distance from Barcelona through the local countryside you first visit Colonia Guell, the main focus of your day. A fascinating project funded by Eusebi Guell to create a village for his factory workers that included school, theatre, housing to a high quality and a church. Gaudi designed the Crypt, the only part of the church completed, and it is regarded as the finest piece of architectural work ever produced by him.

Free time is available to explore the museum and village using audio phones that have recorded information regarding architecture of interest in the Colony. Following a brief time for lunch, your return journey to Barcelona passes through the business quarter of the city before arriving at the Temple of La Sagrada Familia where you will enjoy external viewings and internal viewings before returning to your commencement point.

GOTHIC AND ROMAN, HALF DAY

Departing either from your hotel or cruise ship you will enter the historic center of Barcelona commencing in Plaza Nova.

Highlights include views of Roman walls, Towers, Cathedral, City Hall, Synagogue (oldest in Europe), El Calls (Jewish Quarter), Kings Palace and much more.

MONASTERY OF MONTSERRAT, 5 HRS

Departing Barcelona you will travel through the countryside of Catalunya to the mountain of Montserrat.

Ascending the mountain by road is a journey to remember with spectacular views across to Barcelona and the Pyrenees. Arrival is timed for entry into the auditorium to be followed by entry into the Basilica to enjoy the sounds of the famous Montserrat Boys Choir. A visit to touch La Moreneta is optional.

The Boys Choir perform Monday to Friday excepting August when there are no performances. On occasion the Boys Choir may be on tour away from Montserrat.

WINE AND CAVA, HALF DAY

Enjoy some of the best wines in the world with a visit to the Torres Bodega, you will experience an audiovisual show, a special sensory activity and for those that can transfer, a visit to the vineyards on a ‘train’.

A museum is on site to be enjoyed by those unable to access the train. Following on from either activity is the wine tasting experience and some free time to shop for wines, cava’s and brandy. This tour is available April to September inclusive.

TAPAS AND SHOPPING, HALF DAY

No visit to Barcelona is complete without visiting the famous market, La Boqueria, and sampling local tapas. Commencing from your hotel or cruise ship you first visit the Boqueria (when closed other options are offered) to experience the hustle and bustle of one of the world’s most famous markets.

Following on you move to local cafes to sample a variety of types of tapas, wines and cava’s. Finally you have the opportunity to browse local shops for bargains of the day and local artisanal goods as a reminder of your time in Barcelona.

Food and drinks not included in the price. This tour is available April to September inclusive.

HOT AIR BALLOON, FULL DAY

A morning journey from Barcelona takes us to the take-off point for an extraordinary experience of ascending into the skies in a fully wheelchair accessible hot air balloon.

Barcelona, Accessible Tour in the Surroundings, Banyoles

EXPLORE FIGUERES, BANYOLES, BESALU. FULL DAY

Departing from your hotel with private adapted transport you start your journey towards  Figueres. Before arriving in Figueres we will make a stop near the charming village Banyoles, the capital of the county Pla de l’Estany, and best known for its wonderful largest natural lake where you will have the first photo opportunity.

We continue for a visit to Besalu, a magnificent example of a medieval walled town where you can admire the many constructions and facades with Romanesque, Gothic and medieval influences. We pursuit our way to Figueres, to explore the town with an optional visit to the Dali Museum (limited access for wheelchairs and scooters).

TARRAGONA INCL LUNCH. APPROX 6 HRS

Following the coastal route southwards, you will reach the city of Tarragona, a very charming city where ancient archeological sites, some UNESCO listed, mix perfectly with the Old Town of today.

Admire the amazing view over the Mediterranean Sea from the Rambla Nova and do not forget to touch the iron railing for your portion of good luck!

Highlight of the visit is the Amphitheatre, the Roman Wallas and the beautiful Romanesque and Gothic Cathedral.
