About this wheelchair accessible Flamenco show at Sacromonte tour

Sacromonte is the most cultural and magical place to enjoy a traditional Spanish flamenco show. Flamenco is a music genre with an accompanying dance, from the south of Spain. During the flamenco show, you see a magical combination of singing, dancing, and music.

Located on the hills of Valparaiso, just outside the city center, Sacromonte is the most picturesque neighborhood of Granada. The district is known for its cave dwellings, where Spanish gypsies settled in the 15th-century. During the day it is pretty quiet, however in the evening the neighborhood comes alive when the famous flamenco shows are given in the cave dwellings (tablao’s).

The show starts at 21:00. However the driver will drop you off a bit earlier, so you can explore the area by yourselves.

Accessibility details

This historic neighborhood is a bit complicated for wheelchairs. The reason for this is that the district is located on a hill, and the buildings in Sacromonte have limitations such as steps at the entrances. In Sacromonte you are in “a different world”, it is stuck at the past. At the venue of the Flamenco show, there is no (portable) ramp. The entrance has a 10 centimeters step.  The staff will assist you to get inside by lifting your wheelchair or scooter. They make sure that you can enjoy the show from a good vantage point without any barriers.

From Sacromonte, you have a beautiful view of the city and the Alhambra.

After this typical Spanish evening, your driver meets you at the pre-set time and he brings you back again to your accommodation.
