About this wheelchair accessible top highlights in Seville tour

Your top highlights of Seville tour starts at an agreed-upon location in the center. If you are coming from outside the center or the cruise port of Cádiz, we can arrange accessible transportation. Click here for more information.

Cathedral

During this walking/rolling tour, you discover the main highlights of this town. You are starting with an inside visit of the cathedral, that was built on top of a mosque. It is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world (the Saint Peter’s Basilica of the Vatican in Rome is not actually cathedrals). Moreover, after St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, it is the third-largest prayer house in the world.

Reales Alcazares

After the cathedral, you see the inside of Reales Alcazares with your private licensed guide. The Reales is the most famous attracion in Seville, and for good reason. The Alcázar consists of several beautiful buildings and gardens in various architectural styles (Almohade, Mudéjar, Gothic, and Renaissance). The most striking is the mudéjar style, a mix of Arabic and Christian architecture. Did you know that even today, the palace is still in use by the Spanish King?

Archivo de Indias

The next stop on your top highlights in Seville tour is Archivo de Indias, which is one of the world’s most important archives. It houses more than 10 kilometers of shelves full of important documents from Spanish colonial history in America from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century.

Puerta Jerez and Torre del Oro

You go through Puerta Jerez, which is the entrance to many sights of the city. One of them is the Torre del Oro (golden tower), one of Seville’s most famous monuments. You find the tower depicted on many postcards and souvenirs. Did you know that the Torre del Oro belonged to the old city walls and served to defend the city and the Alcázar (palace)?

Today it is 36 meters high and consists of three parts. The Torre del Oro owes its name to the fact that in the past, the second part seemed to be gilded, and a golden glow sparkled in the river. However, some associate her name with the gold that was stored in the tower during the colonial trade with South America.

At the end of the tour, your guide will take you back to the starting point, or you can stay in the center to further self-explore. If you are cruising in from Cadiz, free time can be included as much as time allows considering time in port. Ask us about the possibilities!
