About this wheelchair accessible San Sebastian and Basque coast tour
Do you have an extra day to spend and want to see more of the Basque Country? Visit the different traditional towns during this San Sebastian and Basque coast tour. Oversee the waters of the Cantabrian Sea with some of the most spectacular views and taste the delicious pintxos with us during this eight-hour private tour. Your guide meets you at your accommodation or the cruise port, with private adapted transport.
Leaving the capital of Biscay behind, this magnificent coastal tour will take you to different traditional towns along the waters of the Cantabrian Sea, including the charming culinary city of San Sebastian. You will travel to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, an impressive islet that is linked to the coast by a walkway of 241 steps (not accessible), built on the rock. On the island of Gaztelugatxe, you find a small chapel dedicated to San Juan, built in the year 1162. Near the island, you have the chance to do some bird-watching, to get a breath of fresh air, and to take some holiday photos. You will have some of the best views from this viewing point.
Your tour continues along the coast to Mundaka, a small but famous destination for surfers. You continue to Getaria, a fishing village in Gipuzkoa, and you end your journey tasting the famous pintxos in San Sebastian. The basis of pintxos is a baguette. This piece of baguette is topped with, for example, Spanish ham, tortilla, or fish. The chefs often make a complete creation and it is already a joy for the eyes.
Pinchos (or pintxos) originate from northern Spain, and specifically the Basque country. Bilbao and San Sebastian are therefore known for their large selection of pintxo bars.
