Mont Saint-Michel has limited accessibility. You can directly access the village’s shopping street. But along the way there are steps at Mont Saint Michel and there is no elevator.
The streets are narrow and paved, but some areas with uneven paving stones.
The abbey is not accessible to wheelchairs. There are 139 steps to access. There are no stair railings on the main street. Average height of the steps: 19 cm.

The drive from Le Havre to Mont Saint-Michel takes approximately 2.5 hours each way, so you have ample time to relax, take in the ever-changing views, and learn about the importance of the region to France’s cultural and historical landscape.
Mont Saint-Michel is a marvel of medieval architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its dramatic rise from the sea, perched on a rocky island. Please note that the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey is not fully accessible to wheelchair users, and due to its unique structure, many areas have steep steps and narrow paths, with no elevators available. However, you can access the village’s main shopping street, which offers a range of delightful shops and restaurants.
